If Debbie Harry and DEVO put their musical seeds together to spawn a test tube baby witH the stylized veneer of new wave and the edgy sneer of punk, The Epoxies would be that squalling infant. While paying homage to the synthesized laser whines and automaton yodeling of new wave, The Epoxies are more than just a new wave time capsule.

Unlike those early MTV moments, which dazzled with crazy tinkling over a bit of songwriting fluff, The Epoxies use 80s effects to fill out well-crafted pop songs that swagger like a first generation punk. Sporting neon yellow duct tape, stripes running every which way, skinny ties, and asymmetrical shades, the band picks up where new wave left off, and like their earlier brethren, they know the apocalypse requires a soundtrack that will have us dancing. Their stage shows find them leading the way in a bopping fun-for-all.

Since their formation in late 2000, Portland, Oregon's Epoxies have been running full steam ahead and have never looked back. Following with their breakout 7' “I Need More Time” in 2001, with a self-titled release on Seattle's Dirtnap Records (formerly home to the Briefs) in 2002, demand for the CD nearly pulled the little label under trying to catch up. 2002 also saw The Epoxies first National tour. The Kids in America went nuts for the Epoxies!

In fact, they have created so much “buzz” it is rumored they are currently being courted by several Major labels. One sighting in Feb, at The L.A.Shakedown 2 day punk festival, claims Sire Records founder Seymour Stein himself seemed entirely smitten with the band.... a band he so inspired by the “New Wave” he originally coined in the late 70's/early 80's. Catch the New Wave Indeed!
